In global terms the pulp market finally looks as though it has stopped increasing month on month, with a gradual decline expected from September onwards. This 'should' drive down waste based grades resulting in a slight easing in MG Paper pricing from Q1 of 2011. Unfortunately extreme demand, over questionable supply capacity is resulting in profit taking at paper mills who have lost money historically, but have never really had it so good. We will do all we can to control these costs, but previous forecasts of significant raw material reductions during Q1 & Q2 of 2011 now seem very unlikely. October 2010

Paper Pricing Continues to Rise
Global paper and pulp markets increase unchecked. 14 successive months of higher priced pulp are fully expected to continue through the summer months. Recent paper increases have been fuelled by the weakness of GBP£ and latterly global shortages of pulp due to the earthquake in South America and industrial action across Scandinavia. Supply & Demand dynamics  are not expected to stabilise, leading to fears of a further (3rd) wave of paper price increases at the end of the Summer. It is predicted that pulp contract prices will level towards the end of the summer but it may be some time before this effect is reflected in the buying price of what is becoming a rare commodity.
